Obelisk is co-founded by Dustin Potter and Aaron Lazovik. Before founding the company, Dustin and Aaron worked together for several years at a New York-based operator, where they acquired several million square feet of commercial, industrial, and multifamily properties worth more than $1 billion, in New York, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas. The co-founders have more than 25 years of real estate experience primarily in investing, and also in brokerage, commercial lending, and real estate law –  covering all asset classes nationwide, including residential, industrial, office, and hospitality. 

Dustin is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he lived after graduating while working for JLL’s investment advisory group. During this period, he focused on institutional office and land transactions in the Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Denver markets. 

Prior to meeting Dustin, Aaron ran acquisitions at Brickman Associates, a private equity fund focused on commercial, multifamily, and industrial assets in gateway markets, where he completed almost $2 billion in transactions throughout the United States. Aaron worked in commercial lending prior to Brickman for both international and domestic money center banks where he was responsible for loan origination and workouts/restructures. Aaron is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and currently sits on the UDMUC Red Council. Aaron is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
